ODBDSLC27
The challenge at Our Daily Bread Designs this week is TEXTURE, whether it be by embossing, distressing, or through embellishments. Unfortunately, I needed a sympathy card this week. After I made it, I realized that it fit the challenge well, so I decided to submit it. Here's a second picture so you can see the texture a bit better:
I did lots of distressing, tearing, inking, and fraying and was happy with the result as it looks really different from any card I've made before! It's always fun to try something new, isn't it? :-)
Supplies
Stamps: ODBD--Lift Up Our Hands
Paper: PTI--Kraft & Vintage Cream; stash
Ink: Ranger--Frayed Burlap & Walnut Stain Distress Inks
Die: MFT--Rolled Flower
Distress Tool: Heidi Swapp
Misc: Sewing Machine, Canvas strip, ric rac--stash

Sorry you needed a sympathy card. It's beautiful. Love the textures - I think the blue looks like corduroy. Oh and I agree, trying new things is fun. Just more ways to play with our stuff LOL!
So tough to make sympathy cards but you really made this so perfect ..... really beautiful Jill!!!
I feel you in the sympathy cards. I had to make one last week and it just drains you, right? I really like your card. It's got so much detail and I really like the stamp set you used. Pretty!
Wow, I love this Jill. Great colors and oh that verse! What a great card.
This is beautiful!! Love the distressing and the colors!! Gorgeous way to display that verse. Thanks for joining the ODBD Shining the Light challenge this week!
Well you rocked the challenge because this is FULL of texture! SO cool Jill.
Very pretty card. Love all the distressing and the little flower too.
It's always hard to make this kind of card, but I am sure the recipient is going to be comforted by it, because it shows all the love you put into it! Beautiful
WOW! Stunning card-I love all the texture you have going on.
Oh, I love this awesome card!! Your color choice is stunning!! Thanks so much for taking the time to play along in this weeks Shining the Light Challenge over at ODBD!! Hugs nd blessings, Sabrina
Beautiful card, Jill! The textures and distressing really go so well with the stamped image. Love it!
I actually don't like trying new things - ROTFL But I do like seeing what other people do - heh. I love all the texture on this card....it's so weathered and old-fashioned looking especially with that blue and the antique looking ink. And I really like seeing the stitching on here - sewing machine is good stuff.
This is so fabulous, Jill. Love all the texture, distressing and that awesome flower -- WOW!!!
LOVELY!!!! Great flower! Thank you for playing along in the ODBDSLC! Have a great weekend!
Sorry that you needed a sympathy card Jill, I always find them the hardest to make. Sadly I need to make one too, one of our friends lost his battle with leukaemia a few days ago, much too young. Your card is stunning and I hope it offers some comfort to the recipient.
Hugs,
