Make It Monday Challenge #4

This week's Make It Monday challenge for Papertrey Ink is to use fun foam on your project for stamping and/or embellishments. (Details here.) I was wowed when I watched Heather Nichols' video on using fun foam--it was an "a-ha" moment when I saw how easily it cuts with even intricate dies and realized that you can stamp on it too! Ooh, the possibilities! So, I thought of what I considered a clever idea using Wise Owl. I sat down tonight to execute it and . . . I struggled. I mean I really, really struggled. Nothing came out how I pictured, and I was hampered by the fact that I only had fun foam in one color--white--which I had *just* purchased to make buttons with PTI's new button dies. I scrapped my first idea and went with #2. That was just as bad, although I did keep the die cuts to use on something else later. I really wanted to both stamp with and use fun foam die cuts on the card, so finally, I threw my hands up and did something simple, not-so-creative, and boring. Ta da! LOL! But I got something done, darn it, and if a great new idea pops into my head tomorrow at work, I'm ignoring it! ;-D

Ink: PTI--Plum Pudding & Fresh Snow; Versafine--Onyx Black

I think it turned out great - love the focal point and the white sponged edges. I have terrible trouble with visualisation - things hardly ever turn out as I imagine!

This is really SWEET, Jill! I love how the FF/sentiment looks on the Kraft, and the white buttons make beautiful centers for your purple flowers!

Well, I like it!! And I totally know how tough it is when what we want in our head does not come into reality when we start to create the card.

I think your card is adorable! And at least you tried (I kind of said - er, uh...). Love your using the foam to make buttons and the background patterned paper that you created!

Third time`s a charm!! The cute little white buttons and the Fillable Frames sentiment panel really stand out against the Kraft paper and purple stamping. I like the way that you used the stamping images for the flowers and buttons as well. Great job!

Well, it's adorable, simple or not! I love stamping with the fun foam... it's a technique I had used a LOOONG time ago, but had sort of forgotten about until Nichole showed us on the video! :)

Oh, but this is so cute! (I have, however, had that problem where the idea in my head works so much better than the one I'm making on paper! Hee!)
