A two-challenge card today! I looked at this sketch from
Waltzingmouse and had no ideas. So, I thought--when all else fails, go literal. It looks like a flower to me, so I made a flower! I cut several Large Scalloped Circles from nestie dies, stamped them with a background stamp from WMS, and then rolled like crazy to soften and loosen up the paper layers. Then I inked it some more and cut it to fit the shape of the card. My first try at one of these homemade flowers and it was a fun learning experience. I used one of my grandmother's old earrings as the flower center, and a sentiment from WMS, and stitched around the edges.
The color combo came from challenge #42 at
Just Us Girls. I loved it, and so decided to play along with my first JUGS challenge (love the acronym!). I can see using these colors together again!
Thanks for looking, friends!
