I'm Bummed . . .

. . . I am. But first, this Easter card I made for my little niece. :-) I Fun Flocked a bunny image from Skipping Stones Design's Gray Hares set and popped him up on some nesties. Papertrey Ink's Egg Hunt patterned paper was an easy choice, and provided most of the rest of the decoration!

So why am I bummed? Well, due to circumstances beyond my control, I am losing most of the access to my crafty space for awhile--maybe until mid-June. I won't go into details because you don't want to sit here reading a novel-length post, lol, but suffice it to say that it really can't be helped and I am SERIOUSLY SAD about it. Actually, I've been downright depressed for a couple of days. My family loves me but they really have no idea how important a papercrafting creative outlet is to me. Can you relate? :-D I may be able to sneak in from time to time and play (I hope so, there are a lot of birthdays coming up!), but I can't count on it. I do have a few cards I haven't shared yet, so I'll try to post at least once a week with those, and I will be visiting blogs & commenting as usual (and looking forward to it!). But I wanted to let you know why the pace will be slower around here for 1-2 months, and to explain what's going on if I should at any time appear to be going crazy. ;->

SSD #67

It's sketch challenge time for Skipping Stones Design. I *just* ordered a few sets (to add to my funny stamps stash :-) and was thrilled to have the time to make a card for this weeks challenge! I could not RESIST this newish set, Birthday Purses, because my girlfriends, who had been threatening to take me to the Coach outlet at the border for ages, finally succeeded and we spent a great afternoon purse shopping recently! (I was good and just got a makeup bag--which I needed--gotta save that disposable $$ for stamping supplies, right?!) This birthday card is for my BFF, who is somewhat obsessed with purses, lol. I always make her two cards, one funny and one elegant, so this can be the funny one! :-D I just got Cosmo Cricket's new UPcycle 6x6 paper pad--OMG, it's great! And just the thing for a card about purses . . .

Gray Hares

This is a birthday card for a friend for later this month. It's admittedly not the most sophisticated card, but my friend will appreciated it--she LOVES lavender, and will get a kick out of the sentiment (another Skipping Stones Design set)! Nothing tricky about it--paper pieced hare, hole punch for the ribbon top and bottom, and yes, that is stitching along the bottom--you can tell I did it because it's crooked! Oh, well, I'll just insist that it's charming! :-) Oh, and I used PTI's new Sunshine impression plate--I am loving it!

Supplies
Stamps: SSD--Gray Hares
Paper: 100% stash--i.e. I have no idea where I got them!
Ink: Versamark--Onyx Black
Border Punch: Martha Stewart
Misc.: Die--Spellbinders; Ribbon--Michaels; Rhinestones--Recollections; Scallop scissors; Copics (balloons); Flower punches--EK Success; Impression Plate--PTI Sunshine

Friday Sketch Challenge

Today's card is one I made for Amy R's Friday Sketch at Prairie Paper & Ink. Hers is one of the blogs I like to follow, and this sketch was similar to an idea I had in my head for my friend's birthday--a group of us always get together for birthdays and only funny cards are allowed!--so I decided to use the sketch to guide me. I first saw Skipping Stones Design on Jackie Pedro's blog. Boy do they have some great funny stamp sets! (Stay tuned for another one in a few days.) I paper pieced Prince Charming, and used Smooch to give him a gold crown. Otherwise, it's just paper, ribbon and teeny tiny rhinestones. Oh, and a gold glitter button. Don't want to forget that. :-D Update: My mom is still in the hospital, but continues to recover. Your prayers and well-wishes have been much appreciated, THANK YOU! (Hug)
